Hello! I held an athletic meeting last Sunday. There was small number of attendees. Few things I've discussed at the meeting:

  1. Fundraising ideas.

  2. Team name for both basketball AND softball as well as team colors that I hope can be kept for a long time instead of changing names and colors every year. The chosen (voted at the meeting by members in attendance as accordance to the bylaws) will be shown at the board meeting this Saturday, Jan. 9th.

  3. My selection for Assistant A.D. Congratulations to Lisa Wullschleger. There are some restrictions to her position as she understands those.

  4. M.A.A.D. and national tournaments.

  5. We have a women's basketball team. There are 9 committed players on the team. If you or know anyone else interested to play, let me know. We can have up to 12 players.

  6. Basketball league begins first week of Feb. at W.S.U. Heskett Center. Players will pay for the league which is $20 per player, 1-2 games a week for 6 weeks. Registration deadline is Jan. 27th.

  7. Softball: if there are more than 9 women and 9 men on the co-ed team, we will hold mandatory tryouts for those to make the lineup.

  8. At the board meeting this Saturday, I will make 2 promotions with details. One is to host a Chili Cookout on Feb. 27th (even though the newsletter has already sent out last month). Second is to host a $25 buy-in poker tournament on March 27th. Most of the proceeds will go to women's basketball team (if they're going to National) and the rest of proceeds will go to W.A.D. Hopefully board members pass those promotions.

  9. I'll start the email connection using Googlegroups. It'll help me inform everyone about fundraising events, practices, meetings, games, etc.

  10. I'm still looking for someone to be my Secretary.

  11. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. :)

I'll see you all on Saturday.

Thanks!
Honesty Powell
